Questions campground owners ask before buying
If the answer depends on your property, I will say so.
Field index10 entries, plain language
Is PineRoster a reservation system?
No. PineRoster manages seasonal sites, guests, agreements, payments, inquiries, and waiting lists. It does not offer night-by-night availability or online transient reservations.
What does “no monthly software fee” mean?
You do not pay PineRoster a monthly license, per-site charge, or percentage of revenue. Domain registration, hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and future custom work may still carry clearly identified third-party or project costs.
Does PineRoster include a campground website?
Yes. The project includes a mobile-friendly public website for your campground plus the private management area. The website can cover amenities, policies, directions, photos, and contact information.
Can you import my existing spreadsheet?
Often, yes. The first step is reviewing the columns and consistency of the current data. Import effort is included in the project scope and quote instead of being promised blindly.
Who owns the campground data?
The campground does. PineRoster uses straightforward files and supports CSV exports so your records are portable and can be backed up without a proprietary database service.
Where is PineRoster hosted?
The hosting arrangement is chosen during the project. The system is designed for ordinary PHP web hosting rather than a locked vendor cloud, and the recurring hosting cost is identified before launch.
Will it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The public website and management screens are designed for modern phones, tablets, and desktop browsers. A larger screen is still more comfortable for detailed map setup and bulk record work.
What happens when I need help or a change?
Contact Ben directly. Small fixes, new features, map changes, or additional website work are discussed and scoped based on the actual request. There is no anonymous support queue pretending every change is included forever.
Is the live demo using real campground data?
No. Whispering Pines Campground and every guest in the demo are fictional. Changes are erased automatically, and payment and email delivery are disabled.
Who is PineRoster for?
It is aimed at established seasonal campgrounds in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota that need a clearer shared system but do not need a full nightly-booking platform.
